The Shooting & Explosive Guard Camp is recommended only for players that attend the “Point Guard Elite Camp” on June 9-12. It is physically demanding due to the limited participants a 12 attendee maximum is allowed. Intensity & very strong ethic is demanded during the execution of the drills. All students should be seventh grade to college level OR approved in advance of registration.

5 hour Shooting Block (8am-1pm)
Shooting efficiency, catch and shoot, catch and square, and creating space out of triple threat.

  • Shooting efficiency (taking out all wasted motion in the shot leading to a quicker release and more consistency)
  • Catch and shoot (release the ball faster and with more consistency by understanding proper techniques to the catch and shoot)
  • Catch and square (teach players how to catch and square up helping them establish correct pivot foot and load their legs for their shot and a explosive 1st step)
  • Creating space out of triple threat (making more efficient moves out of triple threat / creating space out of triple threat in the form of step backs and dribble moves / reading the defense out of triple threat / keys to making yourself hard to guard).

5 hour Explosive Guard Block (2pm-7pm)

  • Advanced jump-rope techniques (this will focus on foot speed and proper jumping mechanics)
  • Ability to be deceptive by changing speeds and using correct body positioning while taking contact
  • Practice several different finishes that will make them more effective when attacking the basket
  • Techniques that will make it harder to guard and give them advantages against quicker and stronger players.
 
       
   
 
     
       
 

About Jason Otter
Coach Otter is known all over the world for his legendary ball handling, explosive moves and foot speed instruction. He received a full-ride basketball scholarship to Division I Austin Peay State University under Coach Lake Kelly. He then went on to play professionally overseas and in the United States. Jason holds degrees in Special Education, Health & Physical Education with a minor in Psychology. He continued his education by earning a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership.
Coach Otter has shot several instructional videos and is widely consulted by many of the top college and high school coaches in the country. His attention to detail, emphasis on efficient movement, and driving passion to teach is what makes many coaches consider him the best in the market place today.
Coach Otter continues to train players of all ranges from the NBA to Elite High School players. His love of the game and ability to make everyone around him better is the force behind his training.

Instructors:
Jason and his staff is an ensemble of professional players that were highly touted Division I players. Jason has trained his staff, personally, since their high school years. Some of the Jason Otter’s School of Basketball instructors are currently playing professionally. Jason's camps are all co-ed, unless requested differently. They are like none you've ever attended!!
They are physically and mentally challenging, but provide each player with the proper tools to elevate
their game. These camps build individual skills. There is NO team scrimmaging or one-on-one competition.
These camps are not a day-care or a trophy camp - they are for SERIOUS PLAYERS wanting to elevate their game.
REMEMBER these camps are for the SERIOUS STUDENTS OF THE GAME!
